Change username under Documents and Settings
I recently got a laptop from my cousin. I have actually purchased it with nothing on it and I changed the info through Dell and went ahead to install the software that I needed. Actually, my username ABC is using the profile directory for XYZ. So I ran a tool to extract the below:
Username : Administrator
SID : S-1-5-21-2819713430-23199179-830664976-500
Profile dir : C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator
Username : ABC
SID : S-1-5-21-2819713430-23199179-830664976-1007
Profile dir : C:\Documents and Settings\XYZ
Username : Guest
SID : S-1-5-21-2819713430-23199179-830664976-501
Profile dir :
So, I would like to change the profile dir from C:\Documents and Settings\XYZ to C:\Documents and Settings\ABC
Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks
Re: Change username under Documents and Settings
You can try to fix the "Registered to" information from Windows XP by going into Start and then Run and then type regedit and press enter. After that locate this entry - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOwner and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current
Version\RegisteredOrganization.
