Hello Ayaz!
Graduation from a recognised university or a college in India is the minimum eligibility criteria for IPS. He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing in the UPSC held Civil Services Examination.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Exam every year. The Civil Services Exam holds the key for entry into a number of prestigious jobs in the country including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).
IAS, IFS, and IPS are the top three services of Group A, Central Services. The other Group A services include Indian Customs and Central Excise Service, Indian Revenue Service, and Indian Postal Service.
Civil Services Exam consists of preliminary exam (prelims), main exam (mains), and interview. The prelims are usually held in May /June. Mains are held in October/November. The exam is notified in December. Application forms can be obtained from designated post offices around the country and the exams are held in major cities.

hi everyone myself Barjinder Singh and i am a mechanical engineering student, this is my final year and i want to join indian police services ,please tell me the procedure in which i should work to accomplish my dream.....
I think that you want to know the procedure to apply to the post in indian police services, if so, then you will have to wait for their notification to come up from the UPSC. Every year they conduct Union civil service examination. Eligibility is you should be between age of 21 to 30 years, and should have a degree. There are three stages in the exam, Prelims, mains and the interview. If you get through these you will be put under training and you can become an IPS OPfficer. You can get the applications to the exam from all nationalised post offices and exam is conducted in all major cities.
I think there are several websitesthat offer help on preparing for vivil services, but iam not sure if the admins will like me to share here... still google for it

first of all you need to give Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) and that is UPSC exam.
as your over all ranking and selection of cadre, you will be offer IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. if you have higher rank then choice depending on you.
the examiniation fees of the IPS is CRF stamop of rs 100/- from any head post offices. and after that you dont have any examination fees for IPS.

Well, if you want to become a police officer, then you need to pass civil service examination conducted by the UPSC. The pass outs of the central civil service examination conducted by the UPSC are called IPS and Fresh IPS are appointed as ACP. For the examination and subject details please search the UPSC web site.

Hey...
Im Linda. I am looking forward to join The Police Service,
I have done my B.Sc maths and am a NCC cadet (A+B+C certificate)
I wanna know whether its better to do my M.sc and then try or try now!!
I think that you can easily join the Indian police force after MSC. You can opt for the Civil services exam – IPS exam. You need to be a minimum graduate for applying for this post. You should be not less than 21 year of age. You need to attend the written examination as part of this. If you qualify in the main exam you need to attend the preliminary exam. If qualified in both the parts you can attend the personal interview.
I wanna to Join Indian Police Force,So anybody can plz tell me how can I join police force. If any one know so plz tell me at pritam1000.600@rediffmail.com

There is nothing new added in IPS Eligibility. First the minimum age limit for this exam is 21 and maximum is30. While for obc t is 33 and SC/STs it is 35. There are around 4 attempts only for general category while scs/sts have no limit for the number of attempts. Other than this there are other important criteria like eligibility of chest expansion, or minimum eyesight recommendations.
You forgot to mention that you must be graduate in any field to sit for this exam. There are some tough process which are needed to be checked properly for this exam. Whenever you are going for this exam it is recommended that you must read the needed information thoroughly and check all the requirements of this exam. Medical test is another very important aspect in this exam.
Hi, I am a graduate from india but citizen of United states . I have a OCI and keen to join indian police service. Can i join indian police services ?
somebody please tell me as soon as possible, i'll b very thankful to you.
I am sorry, you wont be able to join the Indian Police Services. The first and foremost reason it is stated that you must be a citizen of India. Although you have done graduation from India but since you are a USA citizen then you dont come under the rules and regulations. If only you had a citizenship of India, then you could apply for this post.
