VBA converter
Hi, I’m using Windows Vista with Office 2007. I have a very old Excel sheet which needs to add the ODBC addin in order to run. But as you all might be knowing ODBC addin does not work without VBA converter. So I tried to download VBA converter pack for Office 2007 but dint found it anywhere. I request you guys to please let me know where can I get the same?

Re: VBA converter
I’m bit confused with your post because as far as I know Office 2007 still uses VBA. So I’m not sure whether you are referring VBA or something else. Can you just clarify whether it is VBA or xlodbc.xla ?
Apart from this I would also like to know how old your Excel file is ?

Re: VBA converter
I appreciate your reply friend. Actually we are using that Excel file on Office 2003. When I tried to addin the ODBC, Excel 2007 tells me that I need the "VBA converter". Later i installed Office 2007 Enterprise edition using MSDN development set and I had looked at the Shared options in the Office install that the VBA application was installed. Furthermore i installed Office Compatibility pack for 2007 but still getting the same problem.

Re: VBA converter
As per my experience I don’t think the problem is with VBA but its Excel itself. Is it Excel 5 or Excel 97? Anyways just try out this. Make a copy of that excel file and open it in Office 2003 or 2007. Click the office button at top left corner and select Save As option. If it's not Excel 97-2003 then first try saving it as Excel 97-2003 and see if that works. If not then if you have access to Excel 2003 you might want to try opening the file in that version and upgrading the file to Excel 2003.
