Samsung rugged phone GT-B2700

Samsung’s new rugged phone, the GT-B2700, features quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 1.9 inch (176 × 220 pixels) display, an integrated FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, a built-in compass and altimeter, MP3 playback capability, a 30MB internal memory and microSD memory card slot.

Samsung’s strategy is to launch phones in a market that has been rather underserved or neglected by the mobile industry.

You may have also noticed the GT replacing the SGH in the model number that typically shows that this is a GSM phone. Mobil informs us that this is the first of a new line of phones for Samsung. Is this a sign that Samsung is going a different direction? Will SGH go the way of the dodo? Not sure yet.
