CDMA Motorola W362 for INDIA

Motorola has recently unveiled a new CDMA entry-level handset, the Motorola W362, which will soon be released in India, via Reliance Communications.

Apparently, the new W362 is 100% made in Motorola's new Indian factory from Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, inaugurated only two months ago. This is probably one of the reasons why the handset has an affordable price: 4,199 INR, the equivalent of $98 or 62 Euros. The rest of the reasons are, of course, represented by the limited capabilities of the phone.

The phone can be connected with the PC sync via USB for Internet access. The phone is priced at Rs 4,199.

At first, Motorola W362 will be available across 12 Indian cities from the country's southern region (Chennai included), with other cities and areas to follow shortly. There's no word yet on when exactly the W362 will be available for purchase. Anyway, most probably, in the next few weeks users will be able to buy it.

With about 46 million customers, Reliance is the second largest mobile operator in India, after Airtel and ahead of Vodafone. Reliance is one of the two Indian carriers that offer CDMA services (besides GSM), the other operator being Tata Indicom, which is CDMA-only.
