The internet settings is set by your service provider. It depends on the provider and the works when the gprs is activated. The phone supports WAP, GPRS, SMS and MMS. The phone is set to default settings when manufactured. I am attaching the manual of the phone below. Download and refer it. It gives you all the information about the phone. And in memory you can add upto 4GB of memory in the phone.

here are the instructions --
first go to main menu then select services open it
then select Data Account
here you will find two options . Select GPRS open it
then edit any existing account.
Edit here by instructions ---
Account Name - VODAFONE LIVE
APN - Portalnmms
User name - left it blank
Password - left it blank
Auth. type - select Normal
now save the changes.

Now go back to main menu and select services
then select WAP open it.
Now select Settings . open it .
then select the vodafone sim.
Now select Edit profile
now select the sim and edit the profile named Vodafone Live [which we had created before].
Now edit these followings to the profile ----
Homepage - http://live.vodafone.in
Data account - VODAFONE LIVE
Connection type - select WAP.
now you will be asked to input the ip address
here is the ip address - 010.010.001.100
User name - left it blank
Password - left it blank
now save all changes and activate the profile .
Now switch off your handset for 5 minutes.
Now switch on your handset.
Now open main menu ....
select services. open it.
select WAP. open it. .......
Now select Homepage.open it and wait for a while.
Now enjoy the internet in your mobile

To get your GPRS settings you will have to contact your network provider. They will provide you the whole settings for your N98 china mobile phone. Try to contact your network provider in order to obtain the necessary settings. You will also be guided through its activation if you are having troubles.

Hello friend i think you can access GMAIL with the help of wap. But it will be better if you provide us some more details about your cell phone including its model number. If you are using Airtel then following is the Internet settings for your china mobile
Homepage : http://www.google.com
gateway address :100.001.200.099
Port : 8080
Username : none
Password : none
Data account : Airtel
Access point name: airtelfun.com
Authentication type : normal
Username : none

If you are using other network then change only Gateway address. You can get this Gateway address from your mobile's service provider.

First of all you are using the chine mobile phone and you have not mentioned the service provider that you are using in your china mobile phone. It is very difficult for us to provide Internet setting without knowing the service provider. Because every service provider has the different settings for the mobile phones for accessing the internet depending on the mobile to mobile. So i will advice you to contact to the customer center of the service provider for the internet settings on your china mobile phone.

thanks for your response buddy....the problem is i have already contacted vodacom ...and they cannot pick up my china mobile phone on their system.they have referred me to speak to the china mobile manufacturers and its been hell. the phone im using is a dual sim card, mp3, tv phone called fashion mobile cell. i've been in to vodacom customer service and they cant help me.i have tried most of the options you guys have listed on this site, for example...airtel etc ..and nothing works ..i keep on getting a message that indicates gprs failed.please help me.

I was also finding internet setting for China mobile but was not getting a proper setting for the same, then after checking out the below links i was able to have internet connection on my China phone hope it works for you too
