I was facing the same problem when I bought new mpX200. I talked to Orange Network provider people, they said the MPx200 can not be used for basic GPRS browsing. For GPRS I should have other connection through which any GPRS phone can be conected to pc as a modem. Since MPx200 has got HTML browser, the phone itself can be used for Internet browsing. This connection costs around 600 Rs per month and the speed is not that impressive.

I am using prepaid card. GPRS was free upto 12-10-2004.
Now they are diducting Rs 5/- per day i.e. monthly 150/- charge.
I think Rs. 600/- service is not started in pune.
But as per my knowledge if GPRS works on Nokia 8310, it should
work on Mpx 200. Is there Advance GPRS & Normal GPRS services
are available from Airtel ?. I have also tried same srevice on Sony Ericsson
P800 model. It works well on P800 phone. I will try setting as per your instruction.

Yes, Advance GPRS means, u can use your mobile as modem in your pc and browse all other normal sites..Even in your MPX 200 also u can browse all normal sites(Except frames based sites)

But the normal GPRS services u cannot use mobile as modem, also u can browse only the wap sites..

I already told in my earlier posts, as far as airtel gprs settings, just putting the APN is enough ie Access Point Name = airtelgprs.com
this thing is enough, all other settings are automaticaly taken from APN..Since i've done this only in all my mobile phones( MPX 200, 7610, P800, T230..) and i had a successful browsing..

Airtel Mobile Office alone is working well.
I tried to add Airtel Live with APN : airtelfun.com in similer way.
In this case both are not working when I removed Airtel Live from
GPRS & PROXI setting again Mobile Office started working.
    Please explain.
I would like to add Airtel Live & Masala to my phone.

No need to put Masala settings seperately for that..Just put the site name in IE
    that is..http://masala.airtelworld.com

Using Mobile office u can access the masala sites, but reverse is not true ie..Using masala profile u cannot access all other sites..

    Hi BlitzKrieg,

Iam sorry to say, that if u getting the error..Unable to connect to network..means Your service provider doesnot activated GPRS on your account..

According to thier website(bpl) the APN was bplgprs.com
Also for GPRS they charging 750/month..But u tolded 100/month..From this only they doesnot activated GPRS..May be Rs.100 is for MMS..Also the APN u given was surely for MMS...

These all details are collected from thier website..

So u please check once again with ur operator about the GPRS activation..

After Activation u make the settings as
    For BPL GPRS

    APN : bplgprs.com
Just leave all other settings and try to connect..I

If not also put Proxy address in Proxy connection..

    Proxy (name:port) : 203.196.249.170 : 9201

    These are the settings...

As far airtel no need to put these proxy address..

    BEST OF LUCK..

That's quite helpful, but you wouldn't believe me. I struggled for one month. I talked to orange people, I talked to motorola guys, all of them told me the same thing that the mpx200 can not access basic GPRS. I think I've got to locate someone who's using basic GPRS from orange, on mpx200.
