Slow Amilo li2727

Help, please!
I am running Win 7 on an old Amilo li2727 laptop (current desktop in the fender shop) This was an upgrade from Vista. Subsequently deleted old.windows.
Issue: on start up it runs VERY slow & getting on to the internet takes about 15 mins. Eventually hard reset it and start again (normally) --- same happens ---- Do it again & the thing runs normally(???) Not very fast, but adequate.
I've ordered another 1gb memory (only 1 gig currently fitted) & removed a couple of programs in start-up (msconfig)
Only other thing - the physical memory seems to run high - about 90+%..
Any thoughts?

Re: Slow Amilo li2727

How much RAM is there in your laptop? I would say that you should try to format your windows drive completely and then reinstall the OS and after that install all the required softwares that you need. If still this time you are facing the same problem then it is your laptop and not the operating system which is making it slow, try adding another 1gb RAM and see if that makes any difference.
