Why my laptop couldn't search for wifi network?

One of my roommate create a personal WiFi hotspot with my wifi router software,others' tablet and phones can get connected well, except for my laptop.I had restart the wireless network adapter,but nothing would change.Do you know what can I do about this problem?

What is your laptop model and what is your operating system. If you are using Windows 7 then just go in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center. In that at the left side click on Change adapter settings. Just see that the wifi is enabled from there or not. You can also update the drivers to resolve the problem.
