Lumia 920 Error Code 800b0003

I bought brand new Nokia Lumia 920 about one and half months ago. The phone works fine but due to number of loaded apps and games, the performance has gone slow. However still i dont have problem with the same but a mobile engineer told me that there is an update for Lumia 920 and i must install it. Doing the same will surely fix the performance issues along with providing new features. Well i tried updating the same for the first time about 10 days ago which resulted in an error message syaing:

"We are currently unable to check for updates.
Error Code 800b0003"

I thought it could be due to server connectivity issues but now it has been 10 days and i try it daily. Every time what i get is the same error message. Any help would be appreciated?

I dont know how is it related Windows phone but i have faced that exact error code long back on my Windows 7 computer. after doing some workouts on the same finally i found that it was related to Windows update. My Norton firewall had blocked the updates due to which the error was generating everytime.

I cannot be sure but similar thing could be the reason on your phone as well because even you getting the error while dealing with updates. So look after the same.

I too agree with the same dude. It is Windows update problem. Whether on your PC or on the Phone, something is blocking the update. You should check the firewall settings on your computer of you are using the PC Suite to update. Or if doing OTA, then make sure you haven’t installed any Security application on Lumia which is interfering.

Thanks for your helps guys. I am trying to update the phone over OTA and checked properly, there is no security software present. I don’t think the PC has anything to do with this, right? Any more suggestion please?

Are you connected on WiFi while downloading the updates? Check your router if it is having any built-in firewall?

I had this problem and the culprit was my office router. When I came home and tried updating, process went fine without any problem. Later I came to know that our office router was having the firewall which was blocking the update on my phone.

Wow… though it sounds strange but that worked. I appreciated your help Holbrook. You were right, it was my router’s firewall itself creating the problem. I just disabled the firewall and there is no error anymore.
