First when they launched Aakash Tab 1, i order three units for me but guess what, never neither got the tablet nor any confirmation or mail related to it. Thank god they dint charged any booking amount. Now from last few days Aakash Tab 2 is in news and i guess they are going to release it soon. This time i will give it a try again. Hope i get one for myself. So before i try booking one for me i would like to know some features and what will be the cost of this tab ? If you guys have info about the same, please let me know as well.

Well as this is the upgraded version of earlier Aakash Tablet, the price is bit higher offcourse. Though there is no official announcement made yet for the release date and the prices, still as per the expectations Aakash tab 2 will cost some around Rs 3500 to Rs 4200/-. This price is for the normal customers who will buy it from market. As we all know Aakash is the project made for university students by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Tablet will be soled at the price of Rs 1130 to the students.

There is not much difference in this version compared to the earlier one. As far as configuration is concerned, Aakash Tab 2 will consist 7inch screen running with the same Gingerbread (i guess). There will be a Cortex A8 processor with 800 Mzh and 256MB RAM. As per the storage, this will come with 4GB internal space and can be expanded with SD Card.

Most important is that it will come in 2 variants, i.e one with WiFi only and other will have 3G SIM card slot connectivity that allows you to use 3G on your service provider network.

Well this seems pretty good compared to those earlier Aakash tablets. Atleast we do browsing without lag or so. BTW, when are they launching the booking of this tab ? And i hope this time we receive one after booking.
