Is it true that Sony Xperia U has a Replaceable battery

I just saw the preview of Sony Xperia U and it has removable batteries. I mean why is this model suddenly given a removable battery while its previous models were not having these features?

The decision to have removable batteries or attached batteries is for the design of the phone. Maybe the battery consumption of Sony Xperia U must be higher and user might need to carry a spare battery with him. Thus option for removable battery must have been provided. But again, from what I have seen of Sony Xperia U. I would say that the back cover underneath which the battery lies, this cover is not made strong enough. So removing it daily and again putting it back might damage it.
