GPS Satellite Lock not working on Lenovo Ideapad K1

Can you tell me why I am facing above mentioned issue in my Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet K1. On my tablet I am not able to set satellite lock on Ideapad GPS. I Googled around but I was not able to find out any particular solution to meet my requirement. Let me know if you are having any specific solution to overcome my problem will be appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

I was having the same problem. I managed to fix my problem by using below mentioned steps.
  • Download and install GPS Status,GPSFix on tablet.
  • Launch GPS > Tools > Manage A-GPS state > Reset and go for Download.
  • Now turn off GPS status and restart Thinkpad.
  • After that simply launch GPSfix on your tablet.
Let me know whether above mentioned steps worked for you or not.

I found following things which can be help to you. Make sure that tablet should not be placed horizontally flat and do the following. Use Wireless networks, GPS satellites and location of Google Search.

By connecting with WWAN, the OS in this tablet is downloading AGPS data. So it wont download any AGPS data, if device is not connected with any kind of network. Third party app will not work for you. Second thing that I had noticed that GPS.conf is using Asia NTP_Server.

Re: GPS Satellite Lock not working on Lenovo Ideapad K1

Well I am posting below several fixes that you can try.
  • First of all try Factory Data Reset on the device. I am hoping that you are aware of how to do the same. if it does not work you , simply do following.
  • Download K1_A301_02_02_110725_US.zip and K1_A301_02_02_110725_US.xml files on computer. After finishing with rename both the files to update.zip and update.xml. after that put both the file to tablet.
  • In tablet, tap on Settings, go for About tablet, tap on system updates, and look for if any new update is available. Restart the tablet.
  • Now perform above mentioned steps again when 110725 getting downloaded, simply again check for new version of update that I had already mentioned above. It will result into downloading of 110829 update and restart the system when it should be prompting.
  • After restarting of tablet it should ask for data and time, now you should select SERVER SUPPLIED AUTOMATIC DATE & TIME,.
  • Now you should update all the Apps as per the new version and customize the tablet as well.
