Hello I have an Acer Aspire 5517 and a few days ago its screen went black.
After many tests I concluded that it was the video card. But I have no clue what type of video card it uses. If possible could anyone help me find th video card needed?

Seems like the Acer aspire 5517 has ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics dicated system memory, up to 1663 MB of shared system memory), supporting Unified Video Decoder. But how did you find that it was a graphics card issue. Have you tried to uninstall any previous graphics driver and installed the latest ones to find out it was just a driver issue?
"Me fail English!? That unpossible!"
I figured out that it was the graphics card using the following steps.
Remove/replace the ram. - failed
Take out battery and cord and put back in - failed
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds or more after taking out battery and cord. - failed
Connect to an external monitor. - failed
Last step replace graphics card - not tried
I also heared that if your graphics card fails your computer will remain at a black screen and that is my problem.
I hope to fix this as soon as possible as long as I don't break my computer even more by opening it.
