Sony Vaio Z133 vs Vaio Z212

Recently my eye catches both of these models. The Sony Vaio z133 and z212 both looks somewhat similar in specs. The z133 is obviously released with older chassis and z212 released with updated chassis. The z212 available for $200 more with the same ram/HD/screen res specs. The only difference is it has a latest processor. I would like to get this laptop for 4+ year for light gaming, much office suite and heavy web browsing. Which one would be better?

Have you seen that both come with 128GB (2x64GB) SSD and 900p screen?

My friend told me that on Z2 RAM cannot be upgradable easily. I like the Z1 but one thing I regret it because of its poor batter life. So if you are gaming and travelling a lot, then you must be the Z2. I also like the PMD that comes with Z2. For gaming it is a best option to connect 3 additional monitors and get best gaming experience.

You didn’t look through the horrible speakers. If you are looking for a new laptop, I will surely choose a Sandy Bridge model. You are telling that you will need that laptop for almost 4yrs timeframe. The problem now is Z2 just lack the upgradeability in my opinion. For that reason I have chosen a loaded X220 rather than any other.

I think that there might be a low end Z2 in price comparison to the Z1. I don’t think that it is not the better idea to expense extra 200$ only for new processor. If the laptop comes with some additional features along with new processor, then only you can think about that. I hope that the Z2 might have come with some new features which you cannot see in the older Z1 series laptops. One thing to say that you cannot upgrade 128GB SSD in the Z2. There is no way you can slide a 2.5" HDD or SDD.

I have noticed that Z1 along with the extended battery gets only 6-8 "real" hours backup and I don’t think that it will be enough for your excessive usage. If I compare base batteries of both models, I can get 1.5 hr more in Z2 than the Z1. If I compare with extended battery Z2 gets as much as 3 hours more than Z1. But the advantage of Z1 it comes with interchangeable batteries. They are not heavy. So I can travel with 2 fully charged extended batteries for Z1 and get 14 hrs
