Dell XPS 15z Sound not working

Hello I have installed the windows vista operating system; recently I have faced the sound issue on mine system. To solve this issue I have updated the Dell XPS 15z system but still getting the same issue. I have contacted support as well to solve this issue but still getting the same issue. i have two speakers as well but on this also i am not getting sound.

Make sure the speakers are set correctly Follow these steps to check that the speakers are set correctly:
  • Make sure the speakers correctly to your computer.
  • Make sure your speakers are powered from a wall outlet or install fresh batteries.
  • Check the volume setting of the speakers.
  • Also check the volume setting on the sound (besides connecting the speakers to the sound).

Adjusting the volume in Microsoft Windows Proceed as follows to adjust the volume in Windows:
  • Double-Choose the speaker icon on the taskbar and move the Volume slider to the desired level.
  • Choose the Mute all check box.
now once you done and after that go through your issue.

Make sure the sound card is detected by Windows. Proceed as follows to check the sound card is detected by Windows: [list=1][*]Choose Start, point to Settings and Choose Control Panel. [*] Double-Choose System. [*] Open the Device Manager tab. [*] Choose the plus sign (+) next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it. [*] Note the manufacturer and model of your sound card or the built-in sound chip (inside the Sound, video and games).[*]If the sound is not in the list in Device Manager, the card is not installed correctly. Choose OK, close all open windows and proceed to the next step. If the sound card is listed and has a red X or yellow exclamation point (!), The sound turned off, or is there a conflict with another device.

The sound test with Microsoft Media Player, Proceed as follows to the sound card to test with Microsoft Media Player:
  • Choose Start, Choose Run.
  • Type mplayer in the Open box and Choose OK.
  • Choose Open from the File menu.
  • Locate the folder C: \ Windows \ Media
  • Choose a wave audio (. WAV) or a MIDI file (. MID), and Choose Open.
  • Choose the play button.
if you do not hear the sound file, but the progress bar moves, check with the manufacturer of your sound how the latest version of the driver for your sound card can pick up and install.

Verify that audio compression is installed Proceed as follows to verify that audio compression is installed:
  • Choose Start, point to Settings and Control Panel and double-Choose Programs.
  • Open the Windows Setup tab, Choose Multimedia, and then Choose Details.
  • Choose the Audio Compression check box and Choose OK.
  • Choose OK and close Control Panel
Most sound cards can only have one sound simultaneously. This allows sound to be played in Greetings, Home Publishing, Picture It! Be interrupted by other programs that use sound, such as games and other multimedia programs.

Make Hardware acceleration for audio off Proceed as follows:
  • Choose Start, point to Settings and Choose Control Panel.
  • Double-click Multimedia.
  • Choose the Audio tab and Choose Advanced Properties under Playback.
  • Choose the Performance tab and move the Hardware Acceleration slider to the left (the None position).
  • Choose OK and Choose OK.
  • Close the Control Panel.
Now once you done and after that go through your issue.

A high definition audio device to a notebook PC may not work after you restart Windows Vista. The device can be a sound device or a modem. There is also an "X" on the speaker icon appear in the notification. Perform the following steps to restore the machine to look in Device Manager to this problem:
  • Choose Start, type device in the search field and Choose Device Manager from the list.
  • Highlight and right Choose on Sound, video and games.
  • Choose Scan for hardware changes.
now once you done and after that reboot the system for the best result.
