HP Compaq TC1100 display auto-rotates randomly

I have bought the HP TC1100 tablet pc few months back. It is running Windows 7. From the past few weeks it is acting very strange. The display automatically rotates when put it on the dock station. Sometimes it also rotates the display during the normal usage. The HDD seems spinning lot quicker as well. Anyone else noticed this issue?

I think that it is a sensor of the display or device that actually causes to rotate. So you need to test the tablet whether everything is running as it should or not. Go to the control panel->Display->Change the display settings->Advanced settings->look into the video software (driver) in order to modify extra graphics/video settings. See any setting can help you to restrict the display to only one position. I can't tell you the specific answer or settings now.

The actual setting is as follows:

Control Panel >> Display >> Change the display Settings >> Advanced Settings >> choose the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile Tab >> choose the Graphics Properties. While clicking, the device will pop up a new Window. In that you need to select the proper display settings from the navigation menu. Under that there is a rotation window on the right hand side. Make sure to uncheck the enable rotation.
