Is anything wrong with Playstation Vita

I am willing to purchase the new Playstation Vita. I have read its specifications and they are good for a handheld gaming device. Its price too is reasonable for me t buy. But every product however good it is always has some faults which we tend to ignore. So are there any drawbacks or faults that I should look out for before purchasing it?

As you said that every product however good it might be has some faults. It is true with PS Vita. The battery life of PS Vita is currently the point of discussion among the gamers & its users. It has battery life of around 4 to 5 hours. This can prove bad if the user is traveling and has no source to recharge his/her device. Generally, such portable devices need to have battery life of 8 to 10 hours but, it fails as a handheld device in terms of battery life.

This problem can cause more trouble when the user is connected to internet and especially via 3G network. Because internet tends to utilize a great amount of battery charge causing PS Vita to lose battery life even faster.

Hand held Video Game devices are known to have a high end camera. But PS Vita has weak cameras. The primary camera, which is behind the device, is of 1.3 megapixels and the secondary camera that is in the front side of device is a VGA camera with resolution of 640 x 480. So this means that its camera can only be used for quick snaps or if any game requires camera. Its camera is almost useless for hardcore photography or video making.

Another drawback of purchasing a PS Vita is that it has many hidden costs. The base price of Playstation Vita Wi-Fi model is $249 and the one with 3G & Wi-Fi is $299. It doesn’t include memory card or other accessories. Again PS Vita demands accessories officially approved by Sony. So the memory cards range from $19.99 for 4 GB, $29.99 for 8GB, $59.99 for 16GB & $99.99 for 32GB. Again its headset will cost $19.99, USB cable for $14.99. For 3G enabled models, Sony provides pre designed plans for it.

So after one purchases this necessary accessories required for efficient use of PS Vita, the total cost goes beyond expectation.
