How to remove Blackberry Curve 8520 Hard lock (MEP 0 Left)

Sponsored Links
I have been using the Blackberry Curve 8520. When it was in my hand, there was no problem. Yesterday I gave it to my little brother to play around. What he did was, he made 10 wrong attempts of security code and now the phone is hard locked. MEP counter is 0. How to get this thing out?

Re: How to remove Blackberry Curve 8520 Hard lock (MEP 0 Left)

Do you know what the meaning of “0 left” is?

When you try to unlock the phone with an INCORRECT unlock code 10 times, the MEP shows 0 left. The phone is HARD LOCKED Now. Some may say that playing with software can fix the issue but it is really not. You may end up with PERMANENTLY damaging your phone

If the MEP counter is saying that 0 left, then you can easily Reset Counter to 10 so that you can again try MEP Code and then you can Unlock the Blackberry.
  • Install Blackberry desktop manager.
  • Connect your phone to the pc using the USB cable.
  • Now launch the Desktop manager and the software shows that it is booting ROM
  • At this time phone will ask you for unlock code,
  • If you put the wrong phone code then it will update the rom automatically.
  • After reboot the MEP count shows “10 left”.

I hope that you have SIM card on your phone and it is valid. If so then do the following:
  • In your smartphone go to the settings
  • Then open options> advanced options> sim card
  • Enter MEP2. You won’t see what text are typing on the
  • After that phone will ask you to “Enter Network MEP Code”. Type the unlock code, which you have bought and you are on the Go.

If your phone is Hard locked, then there is no way you can unlock it by yourself or by the use of the software. You have to contact the Network provider to send an Unlock code. Hard locked phone does not give you a choice enter MEP code again since there is no attempt available in counter.
