this particular thread will be useful for the people who are having Nokia N9 but not having access to windows based computer. you can have Navifirm which is written into C++ language and it seems to working fine. I have also found that it is working flawlessly on Linux by making use of Wine. I hope it will work fine on Mac OS X as well. Even you can use it on Windows based computer.

I do agree with you. it is really simple to use. Once you have downloaded and zipped file and there is no need of doing installation on the computer. you have to simply run NaviFirmEx.exe. you will need to select Release, Variant and Download. Once done you will need to use harmattan flasher in order to flash the firmware.
I let you know that I have downloaded NaviFirmEx_v1_6_1_en on my ubuntu 10.04 32 bit by making use of wine-1.2.2. it is necessary to have Wine installed on your PC in order to make use of NaviFirmEx.
