Karbonn K1616 supports java apps. So it is possible to run java apps on it. To run you have to first download apps. You can find plenty of them on getjar. Download it and copy to your sd card and run. When you click on the app from phone itself the setup runs. I am not sure about the compatibility, but the phone has java support and I think many of apps will run.

If it is not supporting Java, than i dont think it can compatible with any other format. Java is the main common platform that supports almost all mobile phones. Try to visit some sites like mobiles24, gallery9, etcc, signup, set your mobile mode and downloads some apps. Probably you will get apps in .jar or .jad format. See if you can install these.
