Can we connect wii to HD TV via HDMI cable

I have recently bought a Nintendo wii and I am having a HD TV at my place as well and I just wanted to know that is it possible to connect Nintendo wii to HD TV via HDMI cable? Or is there any other solution that I can try out to do the same. Is there anyone who has an idea about it and can help me out as well??

As far as I am aware it is just not possible to do so, even I had thought of the same previously and was looking after a solution for the same but then I have not yet got a luck, I really don’t think that there is a workaround for this.

I am not very sure about this but then I have found a guy mentioning that he has done the same by using a Compostie to HDMI converter box which he had bought from the amazon and after that he had just attached the Wiis Composite cable to that box and then he was able to get the wii to HD TV, if you want then you can find more about the same and try it out.
