| Re: Dell Studio 1558 Overheating
In case of overheating, two signs may alert. The first is of course the temperature outside of the machine and the second is the noise that the fan runs continuously. In extreme cases, can even turn off the computer on its own to protect themselves. The procedure is to unplug the computer. To speed cooling, you can use a cooling pad or plug in an external fan in front of the machine. Then we remove the dust that likely accumulated in the box with a can of compressed air. It may sometimes be necessary to disassemble the cabinet in order to clean the fan. To protect your laptop from overheating should be performed regularly clean the vents and the fan. |

Hardware component may have been damaged. Check your computer to see if any hardware, such as memory, processor, or the graphics hardware has failed. Most Dell computers come with diagnostic software that can be used to verify hardware failures (Using Hardware Diagnostic Tools to verify hardware problems (Vista) or Using PC -Doctor (XP)). If the hardware has failed, replace the damaged component. |

| Re: Dell Studio 1558 Overheating
The cause of the overheating of the PC is due to the internal fan, the PC provides to defend themselves against high temperatures, but if the fan does not work we need to understand why this happens, and of course solve the problem to avoid the risk of damaging consequences for the PC. In particular, the summer season, with its high temperatures, may bring additional stress to the fan so if it does not work properly will overheat. Here are some suggestions to solve the problem of overheating of the PC, according to the original problem that the fan is not working properly. In any case, we can buy an external fan, connected to the PC via USB, which will give valuable assistance and support to the internal fan. |

| Re: Dell Studio 1558 Overheating
If the fan does not start with the launch of the PC, or is too slow, we can make several assumptions: 1) The fan is broken and must be replaced and to solve this issue you need to contact with the technician for the replace. even if we changed the fan, the problem of its malfunction recurs, we seek the root cause in the BIOS, which can not regulate the proper functioning of the fan itself. We can provide in this case the BIOS update. |
