why does my portable storage device make a constant beeping noise

I had my portable storage device plugged into my computer and it was working fine earlier. Now when I plug it in it makes a constant beeping noise like it's trying to boot up. Also my computer doesn't recognize it but, it says that I have a removable storage device attached to my computer. Could someone tell me what the problem is?

I am having bad news for you, if you are having beeping sound constantly on the portable device of yours than I am sure that the issue was getting happening because of the failure of the hard drive.
however If you are having warranty of the device then claim for it. you will replace of device with the new one.

Thanks for the reply. I was also wondering if there was a way to recover the information that is already on the device.
