How to get Facebook app to work in Samsung Star II GT-S5260 cellphone ?

I am unable to get Facebbok app to work on my SamSung Star II GT-S5260 cellphone. I do not have a data plan and am using wifi. Internet and Youtube work but not facebook and twitter.

I am getting the following message when I click on 'facebook' or 'twitter' app.

"Set connection for Network Services".

Do I need data plan from the service provider to get them to work ? Is wifi not enough ?

I think that your Samsung Star II GT-S5260 connects to another apps other than the one you want. This could happen if you have previously connected to that other AP and it automatically connects to it each time. To change to another AP, click on Settings > Connectivity > WiFi then choose the correct one from the list. If it's hidden then you should click on "Other" then fill in the required details.

Tried that. Still no luck. Any other suggestions please ?

Have you tried removing the sim card and then tried connecting to the facebook app via the wifi internet? Or else go to Settings and then Network settings and from there to Connections and set up a fake profile there. Go to Settings --> Application --> tap on any of the application and look for the profile settings, try using the various available profile there and see if it works.
