I recently cracked the LCD on my phone. The outer glass is smooth to the touch and the top half of my phone works, it's just the lower half to slide to unlock that doesn't This maybe a odd question, is there a way to flip the screen to where you can use the slide to unlock on the top half?

I dont understand what exactly are you saying, can you post a pic of the cracked screen of the iphone 3gs here. I suppose the unlock slide button is located at the top of the iphone which can be used to unlock it.
