Which ram upgrade will be better for Fujitsu LifeBook T730 one pair of 8gb or two pair of 4gb??

I have been using a Fujitsu LifeBook T730 and it is having a 4gb of ram but then i am willing to upgrade it to 8gb but then i am confused because i have visited the Crucial website and they have mentioned that there will be no problem in installing the single pair of 8gb or ram but then you will get the best performance with the 2 same pair, so now i am pretty confused with the same, I mean that will there be actually difference in the performance between the both?? is there anyone who can clear out my doubts? Any suggestion regarding the same will be appreciated.

Yes there can be a bit of difference in the performance but then i don't think that there will be much difference between them rather than their price. I have found that one pair and two pair were hardly having difference previously but then today with the newer platforms the memory connections has been changed drastically and there are many people who do experiment with them as well some do get better performance and some make it worse. I will suggest you to go with the single pair of 8 gb ram.

re: Which ram upgrade will be better for Fujitsu LifeBook T730 one pair of 8gb or two pair of 4gb??

Hey thanks for that help and the other thing that i wanted to know is that i have found the below options:
    • Crucial CT2KIT51264BC1067 8GB 204-PIN PC3-8500
    • Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600

I have checked the specification of my device and it is saying DDR3 1066 and that is confusing me even more, so i just wanted to know that which one will be better from these?? any further help will be appreciated.

I think that the "Crucial CT2KIT51264BC1067 8GB 204-PIN PC3-8500” will be better and even if there might be performance difference then it might be negligible so you really don't have to worry about the same. Other than that you can also get a ssd in order to increase the performance but then only if you don't have a problem with the budget. I have been using Sandy Bridge i3 chip which is from 2nd generation core 2 and i think that this gives the best performance, so if you want then you can check out the same later.

I will like to add that i have found that the PC3-8500 was actually delivered by multiplying 8 by some effective clock rate, just take a look below to understand it better:
    • 8500 / 8 = 1066(approximately) which is them same as that of DDR3-1066
    • where as:
    • PC3-10600 / 8 = DDR3-1333; DDR3-1333 x 8 = PC3-10600
    • PC3-12800 / 8 = DDR3-1600; DDR3-1600 x 8 = PC3-12800

So according to the specification of the Fujitsu LifeBook T730 you should go with the PC3-8500.

As far as i am aware the Fujitsu LifeBook T730 is actually rated to 1066Mhz ram so according to me you can very well use any which is less than 1600Mhz ram and if you get it below that then you will not have to worry because it will clock the ram to 1066Mhz just for e.g if you get 1333Mhz DDR3 then you wont have any kind of problem as it will be automatically clocked to 1066Mhz . Other than that i think that there will be very little difference in performance between the following ones:
    • 1066Mhz
    • 1333Mhz
    • 1600Mhz DDR3

So you mean to say that even after 50% increase in the ram there will be no difference in the performance just because of the cache memory in the cpu. Are you really sure about the same?? because i doubt it.
