Upgrade to Linux UBUNTU 10.04 on Acer Aspire 1410, 1810TZ and 1810T

Recently i have installed Linux on Acer Asipre 1410, 1810TZ and 1810T. The version i have updated in all these laptops is UBUNTU 10.04 LUCID LYNX. After this unique update, i have noticed several things and changes. I thought that i could get several issues after installing this OS due to lack of drivers. Anyway i think i have slight luck. Here are the things i got worked:
Graphics, Audio out, speaker and headphones, Networking, both wireless (intel wifi 1000) as well as wired (the atheros gigabit)
What's not working is: integrated Mic via Audio in.
Does anyone installed on theirs? i will be happy to hear your feedback.

Works great on acer aspire 1410 SU2300. I recommend passing a range of useful tools including temperature control

Also Tested and approved in respect of my 1810TZ. I followed their guide to find and integrate a broadcom Bluetooth kit controller + original Acer dedicated cable. A convenient bluetooth mouse when lack of USB port.

I have Acer Aspire 1410 / 1810T / 1810TZ on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). With all due respect, the problem I do not think that Ubuntu is in no one has reported having problems with this type of machine. In fact there is a youtube video of compiz running Ubuntu 9.10 on a machine like. The real users of GNU / Linux do not expect the system will do all that therein lies its advantage, there are many more features you have to configure GNU / Linux but they are giving you the control you, not the system.

After almost euphoric start, I got the above-described problems, keywords "mountall", something with "udev" on boot and was necessary at all times successfully booted, ran the computer could not get off clean, at least when it was once a Suspend - I had to keep it off hard. Interestingly, the thing works just fine when I use the live version. Once I installed it, there are more problems, especially when booting. have since tried a number of other ISOs, including "Ubuntu Netbook". It seems all 9.10-derivatives to give similar problems.

Unfortunately, I like the ergonomics and functionality of UNR so good that I would like to have the "essential" to run on the 1810T ... but am now just rat-like hopeless (yes, there were already a number of bugs reported for 9.10, including "mountall").

The timeline is actually quite "normal" that Linux cannot cope with new hardware. In principle, one can already be quite happy with the new kernel in Ubuntu. At least, LAN / WLAN works without additional drivers. Simply turn ACPI off and you are the problems going on. At some point, is then also a kernel that runs smoothly.

The problem described by you can not confirm for my 1810T. Use the default generic driver from Lucid without any modifications (such as in the xorg.conf, the 'by default' not to my knowledge is used at all).

Somehow i think that it relates your BIOS versions . As for 1810T, the bios version 3120 is still current. Unless I interpret the description in the readme in the BIOS versions, there are no special difference in these models, since they differ only in either plug or additional components of the CPU. So the bios is described as a 1410/1810t-series bios. I have tested it the day again: Wireless works after wakeup, but I must also say that I once so greased. So as a small acknowledgment in your direction. But by continuing problems, and serious errors even with the SATA controller I can not tell. I have the equipment in daily use and as such I would definitely have noticed shortcomings.
