I wanted to upgrade CPU of Acer Aspire 5251-1513

As the title of this particular thread is saying what I wanted to ask you over here. I am having Acer Aspire 5251-1513 laptop. I am looking to upgrade the CPU of the laptop. It is having AMD V series processor and having clock speed of 2.2ghz. also the bus speed of 2000 mhz. personally I am looking to get something like AMD Phenom II Black Edition Quad-Core Mobile Processors. But I am not having idea whether motherboard will have the sufficient bus speed? Let me know if you can provide any useful information on this particular matter. thanks a lot in advance.

I wanted to tell you that you should not go above of 35W. I don’t know whether the laptop would run. You can get some additional cores by installing some additional program and continue with the TDP.
    You can have following options.
    2 cores: Athlon II P320, P340
    2 cores: Turion II P520, P540
    3 cores: Phenom II P820, P840
    4 cores: Phenom II P920, P940
You should remember that the Phenoms will give you cores but you will not be able to get the GHz.

Recently I have installed phenom II x920 BE on the laptop of mine and it seems to running really fine.
However it is getting idle at 42c-46c temperature. It can run 15 applications at a time and I have tested the same. the maximum temperature it got was 60c to 62 c. Well I think it seems to be really worth to installing the above mentioned CPU on the laptop.

I wanted to tell you that there is driver mod available in the market which will allow you to make use of the desktop integrated motherboard drivers as chipsets to run on the laptop which is available. Due to this you will be able to get the updated drivers. you should use the AMD overdrive for the chipset and it should not give cpu and gpu share to the cooling on the laptop. The above mentioned thing will help you out to resolve the issue related memory module issues after doing the CPU upgrade.

I have done lots of research work on this particular matter and I have come to know about that you will be able to run the CPU at 25W or 35W. Also AMD Phenom II X4 P960 processor is running the fastest one.

You can use the following steps to replace the CPU on the laptop of yours.
    1. You have to remove all the screw from the bottom of the laptop panel.
    2. After remove the hard drive as well as WLAN module and you should not remove the RAM.
    3. You should remove the any of the keyboard keys rather you have to press small tabs which you are supposed to push so that you can remove the keyboard.
    4. After that you can replace the CPU. The entire process would be around 1 hour longer.

You have to know one thing that is CPU should have the DDR3 controller which built into the CPU not on the motherboard itself. Hence you will not be able to adjust the BIOS. So you have to get the adjusting RAM. If the CPU which is having the DDR3 controller of 1333 but you have installed 1066 RAM and then it cannot handle the working at the 1333 and if I am not wrong it will result into BSOD.
