WD TV Live cannot play MKV files

I have done with the installation of the WD TV Live which comes with the redbox. But I found that mkv files are not played by this. There is no problem with the other files, only mkv files are having issue. There is no proper solution for this on internet as I have already searched for that. Can you please tell me that what can be the possible reason for this and how that can be solved. Thank you so much in advance for reading and replying to this thread.

Here are the formats that it can support and if you will try to use some other format then that will not function.

• Video : AVI (Xvid, AVC, MPEG1/2/4), MPG / MPEG, VOB, MKV (h.264, x.264, AVC, MPEG1/2/4, VC-1), TS/TP/M2T (MPEG1 / 2 / 4, AVC, VC-1), MP4/MOV (MPEG4, H.264), M2TS, WMV9
• Photo : JPEG, GIF, TIF / TIFF, BMP, PNG
• Audio : MP3, WAV / PCM / LPCM, WMA, AAC, FLAC, MKA, AIF / AIFF, OGG, Dolby Digital, DTS
• Playlist : PLS, M3U, WPL
• Subtitle : SRT, ASS, SSA, SUB, SMI

I think that you will have to upgrade the WD TV and that will solve the problem for you.

This is not only you who is facing the problem like this. I am also struggling with the same thing. I think that this is made in this way not not to support the MKV files but this is very disappointed for all the users. I hope that they will fix this problem in their next release.
