If you use the Windows XP operating system and do not know yet how to turn up the volume on your laptop, know that all you have to do is click on the icon of the 'gray speaker is located in the system tray, next to the clock in Windows bottom right of the screen. You will see a slider bar, click on the indicator present in it, hold the left mouse button and bring the slider to the highest point of the bar. That's it! So you raised your laptop volume to the maximum allowed. Since it was not hard? If you use Windows 7 as operating system or Windows Vista, the procedure to increase the volume of the laptop is almost identical to that of Windows XP but offers a few more options. Then click the speaker icon in the notification White placed (near the Windows clock), select the indicator that is located in the volume bar that appears, hold the left mouse button and brings the indicator up to the highest point of the bar. So you have increased the volume of the laptop to the max on Windows 7/Vista, but in newer versions of Windows you can also adjust the sound for individual programs running Instead of for the entire system. To do this, click on the item mixer located below the volume bar and adjust the audio level of the various programs such as done with the laptop volume. |

i think there is something wrong with your game setting and so therfore i would like to suggest you to make sure Sound volume is set to max and the game volume is also set to max. once done the all high setting and after that make sure your getting the issue or not. |

| Re: Sound very low in Toshiba Satellite
Hello - I have the same problem, with Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satillite. But I already have my volume at Maximum, both for Speakers & System Sounds. But now, every time I use a CD (movie) or when I watch Netflix, the sound is so low that I sometimes can't make it out, even with my ear next to the speaker! What can I do? Could it perhaps be a problem with the speakers, like needing to clean something? Rental places always clean the movie CDs for me before I take them home, so it can't be them. And it isn't a problem with System sounds, nor with short videos I watch on the Internet. Very confusing! Thanks for your help. |

Yes it can be a issue of speaker. The sound output are set by default and you can control that from the volume control button in system tray. If still it does not give high sound then that can be limit of speaker. If it is under warranty you can try contacting the service center. They might give you a free fix for that. Or else using portable desktop speakers can be better alternative. |

But the real problem is this: The sound is fine, even when I play a CD and listen to the ads at the beginning of the CD. It is only when I click on Play and the movie begins, that the sound drops down. Could it be something with the Dolby sound? Or is my computer minimizing the sound, for some reason? I see that Microsoft automatically minimizes other sounds to 80% whenever the phone is activated. Could this somehow be malfunctioning? |

That was a great suggestion! I was using Corel WinDVD Pro 11, with the volume turned all the way up (and even so, it was too quiet to hear once the movie started). But I also have the Toshiba DVD Player "Resulution" that came with my laptop. Unlike Corel, it doesn't have Dolby sound - I don't know if that makes any difference, but Dolby has REALLY complicated settings. And the Toshiba works perfectly! Thanks for your help, |
