Can I use SSD in Toshiba satellite L305 S5885 laptop?

I am having Toshiba satellite L305 S5885 from the last one year and up till now it was working so fine. Now I want to do some changes on it. I came here to know that can I use SSD in my Toshiba satellite L305 S5885 laptop? I want to replace the hard drive but, here it would be nice if I can replace it with the new SSD. Please suggest me in this case.

Thanks dude for the reply, for that I have also searched for the SSD which will support my Toshiba satellite L305 S5885. But I have some problem related with that, the problem is that I cant find the lot of the details on the SSD connectors in my Toshiba satellite L305 S5885. So can anyone please search the details for me about the SSD connector for my Toshiba satellite L305 S5885.

Yes friend, I have done the same for my Toshiba satellite a205 which is same old as yours. And after changing that I see the significant change from the previous 5400rpm. And in your case I can say that your satellite L305 S5885 support the SATA connector, for that reason the installation will be the very simple task. Here I would like to say that some of the users of the same laptop which have replaced the hard drive have so many issues related with this. But I think that it depends on the drive manufacturer. And here I think that the new sata2 will be the best in your case. And also try to not look on the SATA1, because this one is more expensive. I am also using the old laptop and I am thinking for the ne built in it.

Here first tell me that which operating system you are using because windows XP doesn’t support the SSD. I have also replaced the RAM to 4 GB and SATA2 Sandforce drive in my old Dell Core2 Duo which is running on the windows 7. And up till now all thing and all was working so good.

Ok friend, I am having windows 7 32-bit, so I think that there will be no problem in the upgrade. And in my laptop I am having 3 GB of RAM.

Here I think that hard drive change with the SSD replace is not the good idea. I am telling this thing because windows 7 does something to optimize SSD , which is done with a fresh install only. But here I have never done this type of the upgrade so I can’t say anything over here. Here I can see that so many of the user have done this and they are getting that all things are working fine. Here totally depends upon you that what you like to do with your Toshiba satellite L305 S5885

But here, I disagree with your suggestion. I think that if the user want to replace the hard drive with the SSD in his Toshiba satellite L305 S5885, then he can do this. but while doing this he have to make sure that he have taken the proper SSD interface for that.
