how to assign customized ringtone to windows phone mango

I have a new windows mobile mango in which I can set any song as my ringtone but I want to personally customize certain songs in my pc and then transfer it to my cell, and want those ringtones to work as my message tone…can you suggest me any other way to do this???????????

You can currently assign any default ring tones to your New Message alert, so you would able to assign custom ring tones to SMS/Text incoming alerts when ever that functionality is available.

Microsoft has posted some details about the custom ringtones feature to be introduced in the upcoming Mango update for Windows Phone 7.

• New custom ringtones API that Microsoft- This API will permit third-party developers to make applications that can add ringtone files to your devices.
• The users will be able to create their own ringtones on the PC and then load them on their Windows Phone 7 device via the Zune software. The ringtones audio files will need to conform to the following specifications:
• 39 seconds or shorter
• Smaller than 1 megabyte (MB)-ideal for message tones
• Saved in MP3 or WMA format-generally which is supported by windows
• The ringtones will not be copy-protected (i.e. DRM free)
