Why imac 2011 is slower than Macbook pro 2011?

This really baffles the intelligence. At present own a 2011 iMac Last week I buy a 2011 17 inch Macbook Pro .Unnecessary to say the startup and shutdown time is a great deal more rapidly with the Macbook Pro subsequently the iMac, even though the specs on the iMac are much better. I guess I have to ask, why is the Macbook Pro with the smaller specs faster? Any input on this would be intensely appreciated.

Kind of require to be acquainted with what you do on both and what apps are installed. If you're running your MBP to surf the web and your iMac to do profound video editing with lots of HD files on, it's jump to start up slower

I noticed the identical thing. yet out of the box - with not anything supplementary installed on the iMac the MBP will boot more rapidly. I just write it off as have to do with further RAM checks, a superior disk drive, diverse hardware which require dissimilar sets of startup processes and checks - nevertheless I can't put my finger on it openly. There's a clear and definitive dissimilarity though. on the other hand, once that larger train gets up and running at speed - it will perform other operations faster than the MBP.

This is accurate for me also. Once the iMac is up and function, it does work more rapidly than my MBP also.

Let's look at this one step at a time.
    First the CPU:
    • - 2011 27" iMac, 3.1 GHz quad-core i5.
    • - 2011 17" Macbook Pro, 2.2 GHz i7

    Second-ram.
Just because the iMac has 12 gig of ram does not necessarily mean that it will add any speed.
    Third-hard drive.
    • - IMac has a 7200rpm hard drive
    • - The Macbook Pro moreover has a 5400rpm or a 7200 rpm drive

The bottom line is the Macbook Pro by means of a Geek bench achieve of 9965 is a high-quality bit faster than the iMac with a Geek bench score of 8379.
