Darn iphone 4 ringtones won't transfer!

I have been on several forums trying to troubleshoot transferring ringtones to my iphone 4. The files are the correct format (m4r), and they play in itunes, and they are under the ringtone file. I have checked the box to sync my ringtones and they still do not show up, however they do show up under "music". I have also made them read-only, and also under preferences>advanced let itunes copy the files into itunes media. I've also deauthorized and reauthorized my computer/iphone.

None of these suggestions have worked! I'm about to rip out my hair!

Probably these problem occurs if the file format is wrong or not MR4. But as you saying its in MR4 format, it should get transferred. Strange problem . Well, what i can suggest you is convert the ringtones again MR4 format (though they are MR4). Convert it again and now try transferring them and see if it works.
