Atheros AR9002WB-1NG support only WPA with toshiba Satellite L750/052?

Hi, I am using Netgear DGND3700 router for connecting my Toshiba L750/052 Netbook to internet and I am using latest driver for the Atheros AR9002WB-1NG which is 9.2.0.316.0 but still I am having problem with the connection.

When I was trying to connect it for the first time it just kept rejecting the wireless key for the WPA2 (AES). And thus I set up a WPA (TKIP) network and it identified the key however it will just keep dropping out even when in the same room at the modem/router.

Is there any recent firmware that would repair the WPA problem or comprise support for WPA2 (AES)?

    Thanks for any suggestion.

I would like to tell you first of all as you should try to get the this PDF files first, in which you’ll get AR9002WB-1NG specifications:
after reading this I came to know that they have mentioned there that the Atheros card support the security AES, TKIP, WEP as well.

So you should be able to use the AES (WPA) encryption. But this card operates only at 2.4Ghz and thus you have to make sure whether your router operates also at 2.4Ghz or not.

you should try to make sure whether you are using the similar bluetooth standard at both the end. I mean to say, if you have set WLan standard 802.11 B or G to router then make sure that you have set the same on your notebook as well.

All new notebooks or let’s articulate WLAN cards support WPA and WPA2 encryption because it’s additionally safe rather protected and as you have mentioned, WEP is a lot less safe and shouldn’t be used anymore.

According the stipulation you are capable to exercising WPA encryption so it’s not a problem of WLAN card itself but almost certainly a driver issue. You can download most recent WLAN driver on official Toshiba WLAN portal. in addition modernize the firmware of your router. Newer router firmware can improve the WLAN card compatibility and resolves other problems as well. So check the Netgear page and modernize the firmware of your router as well.

I am not sure whether by updating the Atheros divers you’ll be able to use WEP as well, thus according to me you should get the drivers first and then see what happens.

You’ll be able to download it from HERE.

As the extent to I know you’d be able to use WEP setting with the router you have mentioned but as you have mentioned that you are not able to use it. at this moment the best option would be to contact the service center for further assistance.

You can simply refer their official website.
