I am currently going to renew my camera kit, and yesterday it went into my bag. I had replaced my Canon EF 70-300 F4-5.6 IS USM to Sigma 70-200 F2.8 which is the APO EX DG HSM. There are certain reasons to go for the upgrade. First the Canon was not working properly. I had noticed the same on many occasions. For example when you are in a place of low light and crowd. In indoors doesn't matter. But in outdoors the image is not trapped properly. I felt strongly the need to have a more brighter lens that can enhance my image quality. But as per the budget Sigma 70-200 F2.8 APO EX DG HSM fits the needs. Is it worth for long run, or I have to for any kind of future updates also. I do not find much more additions to this. A big liens with my camera is more than enough to capture the most appropriate picture. The one thing matters is high detailing of photos which I found better in low light while using this photo. With the help of some image enhancer I can easily fix small issues.
