How to fix proximity sensor in iphone 4

I am using iPhone 4 but i am instantly facing Horrible battery life as it is losing the power at a very fast speed because of which i have to charge my phone thrice a day,and my second problem is The proximity sensor.Is there any who can help me sort out this,any help regarding this will be highly appreciated.

I was facing the same proximity problem but I got it resolved by returning it and going back to 3GS.As i was very tired of trying every possible suggestion from different forums but at the end i was not at all able to get a solution for it,in fact i have found a no of people having the same problem and finally switching to 3gs.
