PS3 into DMZ is not safe

I've perused a ton of posts on the tech discussion about how to put my PS3 into the DMZ on my router; cheerfully this will take care of the situations I have with my PS3. Notwithstanding does anybody know if doing this will permit create me situations later on, I mean the extent that I could probably tell the PS3 is then absolutely visible to the virtual world and any individual might access it that can’t be a great thing. (I know nothing about routers/modems and whatnot. so don’t blaze me) By the way I've presented this in the blanket gathering on account of the tech uphold discussions don’t appear to get a mess of activity, and I could incline toward a fast response.

Putting anything in the DMZ is a unfavorable brainstorm and might as well be escaped if feasible. I infer identifying an additional method. Since you're having a situation actually playing diversions within the web based world, check your router backs UPnP and guarantee its empowered on both the PS3 and the Router itself.

That would be the situation, my modem/router underpins UPNP (its a Netgear who knows what) yet when I tell my PS3 to utilize it for the satellite juncture it states it doesn’t underpin UPNP. Now either my router is lying (suspicious, my PC and 360 both work fine) the PS3 is lying (feasible) or there is a similarity issue amidst the Netgear router and the PS3.

I have a Netgear router that in addition declares it doesn't back UPNP, but it works prefer it does. I haven't opened any ports or put my PS3 into a DMZ, yet I hold no situations whatsoever.

I've got all my units in DMZ (otherwise known as no NAT or firewall) and never had any unwanted or unexpected section on any of my mechanisms. I've got no trojans viruses on my PC. I abhor NAT routers. All that annoy with port sending for each one of those P2P or server requisitions. Then again don't begin with UPnP, it doesn't work 100% like it might as well. I'm simply happy my ISP gives me 4 free IP locations I am able to utilize on my machines.

The situations I getting are sort of differed, I am able to join to PSN fine and download from PSN fine, nonetheless when it approaches download fixes for diversions, I.E GT5: Prologue, Eye of Judgment, and whatnot. they either miss the mark absolutely or they return idiom they can’t associate to the server that I should unite to know if there is a redesign. Case in point I just unequivocally got GT5: Prologue on the weekend, I purchased the Blue Ray form, put it into the drive and got to the first screen and it declared I couldn’t associate to the server to see if a redesign was good to go. I know that individuals have been having situations downloading redesigns and stuff, but to not in reality have the capacity to unite to the server is something else.

The timer thing wouldn't work out so well I don't suppose, a debt of gratitude is in order regarding the proposal however and its not JUST my ps3 that I switch off, its all items, all associated via multi connectors, so it could mean leaving on not JUST my ps3, but my speakers, DVD player and so on.
