Making restore disc for HP Purple 15.6" Pavilion g6-1b87CL Laptop

I am thinking of getting a HP Purple 15.6" Pavilion g6-1b87CL Laptop PC with Intel Pentium P6200 Processor and Windows 7 Home Premium. It says restore disks are no longer included. I read something on this site about how to make a restore disk, that said to use a blank C.D. Can it be any kind of blank C.D., such as one typically for music? This will be my first laptop, and I know nothing about computers in general. If it helps, here is the link:

I would also like to know how/where to get a decent warranty when the one year one expires. A friend of mine told me she knew of a couple free anti-virus sites as well. Any feedback on that would be appreciated.

You can try to make recovery disc for your hp laptop but note that this is strictly for legitimate HP owners who have purchased a laptop with an OEM version of VISTA/XP and have lost or ruined their original recovery discs. Set the folder options to allow viewing of hidden files and folders and show known file extensions.

    1. Search for the following file: hpcd.sys
    2. There will be 2 copies,1 in C:\WINDOWS\SMINST and 1 in E:\
    3. Delete both copies of the hpcd.sys files.
    4. Run the HP recovery disk creation utility.
