How to avoid charging of HTC myTouch 4g when connect to pc via USB

I wondered if there was anyway to disable the load when connecting the 4G myTouch to the computer via USB. At this point is automatically loaded each time you connect to the computer. I like to be able to enable / disable charging when the phone has to be loaded. The reason I ask is because I do not want the constant load on my phone when it has to be charged to shorten the life of my battery. Thanks in advance for any help!

In fact, several short positions are good for your battery. Li-ion batteries have no memory; actually depend on the short positions between full charges to work at full capacity, which is making the battery not to damage what so ever. To answer your question, on the other hand, there is no way when connecting the load off the above reason is why it is there.

• Go to settings.
• Check the connection Type.
• Choose Disk Drive or USB Tethering

I was also facing exactly similar problem. Following are the steps to resolve your problem.

• Connect to PC set to Disk Drive
• USB Debugging mode is on
• Rapid boot

Try above steps and after that check whether your problem gets solved or not. if after doing that also problem still remains then let me know.

After referring your above replies I have performed all the steps which you have suggested but after doing those steps also I was getting the same issue in my mobile phone. Now after doing that I have tried to solve this issue by doing factory reset in my mobile phone and after doing that when I I have performed same steps again from above post at that time that trick worked for me. I am really thankful to you for this information.
