Can i have two 12.5 mm 1 TB HDD in Toshiba Qosmio x505

I want information regarding TOSHIBA Qosmio X505-Q8104 Notebook. Specification of laptop is

I want to buy this laptop. But before that I need one more information according to my information it has two HDD Bay in it. I know it has 1tb of HDD in it but I need more up to 2 GB in it. Western Digital has such a Laptop Hard Disk. This is 12.5 mm thicker than as compare to actual Hard provided with laptop. I have called regarding this to tech support if TOSHIBA. They said that you cannot upgrade Hard Drive for this model. But is there any possibility that I can use two HDD of 12.5 mm 1TB each in this laptop. Does anyone try it? Please provide me help if you know upgrading in it.

I have TOSHIBA Qosmio X505-Q8104 notebook. I have 650GB HDD on my second bay. There are total two bays as you say but the first HDD bay is smaller so I don’t think 12.5 mm thicker HDD will fit in it. But in second bay where I placed my 650 GB HDD has some space left in it. So I am not sure about it that 1TB will fit in second may but you can give a try. You can add 650 GB or 500GB HDD in second Bay. So your size will be up to 1.5 TB. This is much more for you.

There is one HDD I know which is WD Scorpio Black 750 GB in size and have 7200 rpm and size is 9.5 mm so as compare to the above one you mentioned it is slightly thinner and can fit in your Hard Drive bays. You can fit two HDD in it in first bay and in second bay also. So you have total 1.5 GB of space. and since it is 7200 RPM so as compare to factory 1TB HDD with laptop which runs at 5200 RPM. So speed will can be also high. Try to buy this one.

I am also using TOSHIBA Qosmio X505-Q8104 from 2 months back. And as per my information it can take TB Hard Drives in it. Why I am saying that is because I am using Western Digital TB HDD in my Laptop. It can take TB Hard Drives. But second one not the first one. It has room for thicker one HDD in it.

I bought TOSHIBA Qosmio X505-Q8104 notebook few months back. But I haven’t upgraded my Hard Disk Drive yet. But what customer care executive says is wrong I will give guarantee that it can user 1TB HDD in it. As per my information Samsung has launched 1TB notebook Hard Disk Drive which is 9.5 MM in size. You can get this HDD from hardware vendors or online stores. Model no of the drive is SAMSUNG Spinpoint M8 HN-M101MBB 1TB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s . so buy this hard drive you can fit it in both the bays as it is of size 9.5 MM.
