    Sdcard space on Backtrack 5

I have a very small query for you. I just want to know that how much space is required in the sdcard. I have done searches over the internet and found it on most of the readme but failed on the unzip part.
I would also like to let you know that I have 10GB free space and ran out of space. Please provide solutions as soon as possible. I am waiting for your reply.

I read your question twice as it was quite difficult to understand what is going on. Then I searched on the internet and came with a conclusion. Install the ARM build on the xoom and you will find no more problems further. According to me the BT5 Arm once extracted will take up to space around 4GB. Don’t worry as it will take some time to extract the .img file. Hope this advice of mine helps you.

If the BT5 ARM is extracted and installed properly then its fine or else you will get an error message. The following is the installation instruction when you will try gunzip img file:

    /
    • mnt/sdcard/ 12.78GB/10.44GB free
    • /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/ 7.39GB/ 7.25GB free

    Code:
    # gunzip bt5.img.gz
    gunzip bt5.img.gz
    gunzip: write: File too large
    gunzip: error inflating

If the error is the case then try moving the file to external sd and gunzip. Gunzip the img file on your computer and then try moving to sd card with windows explorer browser:

    Code:
    UPDATE

On my device /mnt/sdcard/ is formatted FAT32.
FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB.

Just open the command prompt by typing cmd in search programs and files in Start. After that, browse to your SDK directory. In directory, go where you have installed the Android SDK. Then go to platform-tools directory. Type the “adb devices” to double check your Android device following with type “adb shell” to enter the Android Shell. Final step is to type “bootubuntu” to enter Ubuntu from your /sdcard/ubuntu directory. There is no need to run ubuntu.sh again.
