Whichever SATA drive that is 2.5'' broad and 9.5mm tall will work inside your T500 laptop. The Hard drive you connected to meets the necessity and thus will work. However my best choice for this laptop other than the Seagate Momentus XT 500 GB 7200RPM SATA Solid State Hybrid Drive through Seagate. I have used this drive in my laptop and it works very well and boots quickly. There are plenty of HDD collections on the online market which you can refer and choose as you need.

I contain the 500GB edition of this drive. I furthermore utilize and have used SSD's through SLC and MLC flash, JMicron, Samsung, Barefoot, as well as SandForce controllers on 32-bit as well as 64-bit operating systems. I've utilized more than a few generations of Raptors, plus 3Ware RAID controllers. I'm not tellng that to boast, I'm telling it to indicate I have a sensible base for evaluation and hope. It's alignment- as well as OS-agnostic, therefore it does not mind if you run it un-aligned on elder Windows XP computers. It will, more than regarding 5 cycles, study what you accomplish and optimize it. You will become aware of your system boots much quicker.

I have put back my 500GB 5400rpm WD by this Momentus XT following doing wearing study. I employ my MacBoook Pro laptop for investigative work concerning great datasets. Here is why I established on the Momentus XT vs. an SSD.
    • 4GB SLC SSD incorporated into the HDD for quick access frequently utilized files.
    • Even though not as quick as an SSD, except so much cheaper than 300GB+ of SSD room.
    • Further vibration and a slight further sound than my WD 500GB, except not considerably so.
    • Mac OS X doesn't hold up TRIM. I was worried that a SSD drive would hold up considerably after a while devoid of it.

You wouldn't stumble on much dissimilarity flanked by hybrid as well as traditional drive, and if you would like actually quick performance drive in that case SSD is the manner to set out. Hitachi, Western Digital as well as Samsung make extremely excellent 7200-RPM drives. Other than this there are several HDD with 500G plus 7200RPM which were created by Lenovo itself particularly for their laptops. You can try them also.

As far as I know that there is no necessary to hunt for that particular HDD intended for your Lenovo laptop. You can get number of HDDs anywhere either in retailer store or in Lenovo market or in online market place like Amazon, eBay, new egg etc. The only thing you need to worry about now is how to replace the HDD in your laptop. you can get number of guide regarding this. However the important thing you need to find about the HDD controller which is lying inside the laptop.

I am extremely picky regarding the sound with my MacBook Pro. The store 250GB Seagate HDD my laptop shipped with was almost untraceable. While I attempted the WD 1TB 5400rpm as well as WD 500GB 5400rpm, I was dissatisfied to come across that they together made perceptible white sound similar to that of a tiny cpu fan. The Momentus 7200rpm makes somewhat further sound than the WD drives, except not considerably so. It does create further vibrations than the 5400rpm drives which you can sense if you place your hand on top of the laptop case, except I am eager to exist with it meant for the performance increases.
