Need to change CPU in Fujitsu amilo pi 1536

Hi friends I purchased Fujitsu amilo pi 1536 laptop a year ago. Since it is quite old so I was thinking to upgrade it. Well I don’t have much idea about how to do it but should I upgrade it or change the entire CPU. Many of my friends told me to change the CPU. I am thus confused what to do since it is the matter of my laptop. Also can I change the CPU by myself or should I send it in to Fujitsu Siemens? Need suggestions.

Well I think it depends on the confidence that you have. Some people are very happy to fiddle and more cumbersome laptops themselves and not others. Remember you have to replace the thermal paste between the CPU and heatsink, and the removal of old composite heat sink. I will suggest you to take help of someone who has done things before. But why change the CPU? All the best!

There are basically three processor choices which you can choose with this machine, the option you go for when you bought it? If not already done so, have you considered more appropriate for RAM to the machine in place? I'm not familiar with this machine, but the condition suggests that on-board memory is 128 MB GPU, which can be expanded to 512 MB shared memory. It's just my view and as always willing to be corrected but I wonder if you should look at these options first before changing the CPU.

As improvement is taken into account, you can upgrade to Core 2 Duo T2600 (2.16 GHz, 2MB cache) or to the Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.00 GHz, 4MB cache). If you do not upgrade the graphics card, then you can upgrade the processor to the T7200, because energy utilization is higher than in T2600 and T7200. And Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 is a Merom core so it is possible that T7400 and T7600 fit. Let us know if someone check if it is true.

For my pi1536 eventually upgrade to a better CPU (T2050 to T7200), 4 GB of RAM and VGA card is an Ati 4570. Hard Drive Seagate became a 250-GB, 7200 rpm. In order to have 4 GB of RAM, I had to change the BIOS to version 1.19 M5500 exotic goods. Everything works fine except that on startup, DVI out does not display images on the external display, but once started Windows 7, is fine. A simple DVI-VGA adapter gives me the boot screen on the external display, a DVI-HDMI adapter work on HDMI LCD or TV. The i945 memory edge is 4 GB for Windows 7 64 bit only identify 3.25 GB. Hope that helps someone.

Well I don’t have any idea about this. If you want to change your CPU or upgrade it than I would prefer you don’t listen to anyone. It’s a matter of money after all. As you are spending so much money on this, I would suggest taking help from Fujitsu Company itself or else asking someone who is specialist in this thing. If I were you then I would have bought a new laptop rather than upgrading it. Anyways it is my opinion.
