HP Dv9000 not recognizing CD/DVD Drive

I purchased a laptop HP Dv9000 last month. I normally use the laptop for gaming, internet surfing, downloading movies and especially for chatting. But I came across a strange issue while accessing the laptop. The issue was that my laptop was not recognizing CD/DVD drive. I tried a lot to find the reason for that issue but failed to do that. When I insert a DVD or CD in my laptop at that time I can listen to the drive spin-up. But the DVD/CD is not recognized. Is someone aware about such issues? If yes then please help me out.

To overcome the issue I would recommend you to install the driver that supports it, as you said that you are not able to see the CD ROM in device manager. Discuss this issue the supervisor present over there. He will surely replace the hardware if it is damaged. After you visit the service center your issue will definitely be solved. He won’t charge you for this service if you laptop’s warranty exists.
