Hp Compaq 2510P Bios password lost

Hello, I am facing a serious problem with HP Compaq 2510p. The laptop has Windows XP installed on it. I had bought it in second hand. I want to re-install windows and when I try to enter bios it is asking for password. I do remember the password. How to remove this thing. I had tried searching on internet but I am unable to find anything. Is there a easy way through which I remove the password.

The bios password can only be removed if you can pull out the battery on motherboard. And for that you have to open up the laptop and remove the battery out. It is placed on the board. This will reset the bios settings and will remove all the settings. It is the best way to get rid of password. This is bit easy on desktop because you can easily see the battery.

There are some possibilities through which you can wipe out bios password from windows itself. But there is no guarantee that it will surely work. There is a tool called as CMOS De-Animator. This tool will help you to reset the bios settings. It is very easy to use. You just have to install it and you have to reset the bios settings through it. Just try this tool and see whether it works or not. If not then you have to remove the cmos battery.
