| Re: Keyboard not working of HP ProBook 4720s
I think the keyboard problem is happening on your laptop because of some driver related problem. I recommend you to uninstall your keyboard driver and then check for the problem. You could uninstall your driver by going to device manager and then look for the keyboard drivers in the list. Then right click the driver and select uninstall for it. After this restart your laptop and the new drivers would be automatically get reinstalled on your probook. |

I guess that there would be some problem with software of your laptop. You should try to turn your laptop in safe mode and then check for the same problem again. By doing this your laptop would boot in minimal configuration and then if there would be some software issue then the problem would not occur again. So just check by booting in safe mode and then try to type something and I hope it would be again. |

I guess this is occurring because of BIOS software. it is an hardware related firmware which is important when starting your laptop. BIOS software is just a startup screen which you see very first at the press of power on key. You need to update this software and you can find this update from HP website, so download the newer BIOS firmware and update your BIOS with it and after it I hope your keyboard would be working properly. |

If updating the firmware of your BIOS doesn’t solve the keyboard problem then the problem itself would be your keyboard. I guess the keyboard of your laptop might have gone faulty or may be the keys of it. You cannot find the exact issue of it and nor even solve the problem as keyboard repairing involves the chip level knowledge. So you can just show your laptop to nearest local repairing center and find what exactly the problem is. |

You should go to your service center and ask them about the issue. These technicians would help you to solve the problem as they know much better about their products. As if you have bought your laptop recently, I guess you would be having the warranty on this. So don’t worry for this you won’t be charged for this if you visit service center and these people would solve the problem soon and you would get your keyboard problem solved. |
