Webcam not working on HP Pavilion dv9720

So here's the problem. Two days ago I tried to use the CyberLink that comes pre-installed on my laptop. However, once the program started I said that it had found the webcam. I found this strange, since the camera is built so it should not be disconnected, so I decided to try it with my other programs without success. Then I checked my device manager and found there was no web cameras installed there either. So can anyone help?

I would like to suggest you the following steps and so that you can solve your issue. To do these go through the following steps: first close the all application and after that make hit on the start icon and after that make hit on the run. Now on the run program type devmgmt.msc and then make hit on the ok button. Now on the device manger go to the driver tab and under that make click on the update driver. Now once you finish the updating and after that restart your system and then go through your issue. I hope this will resolve your webcam issue.

As you said that I have windows vista on mine laptop and after that I have upgraded mine operating system from windows vista to windows 7. After updating I have got this issue and I have also tried the above solution but it doesn’t help me to solve mine issue. As you said that I gone to the device manger and under that I have successfully installed the all update and installed the latest driver but after that also I have faced the same issue. Now I don’t how to solve this issue. Can anyone suggest on this issue and so that I can solve mine issue. Please help me out from this issue and thanks in advance.

I've been through this same problem and would like to suggest the following steps, so you can solve your problem. This requires the following steps: first run your system on the in Safe Mode and then select start on the desktop and after that select control panel. Now control panel select device manger. Now, in the device manger select the webcam driver and after that right click on it and choose properties. Properties now go to the driver tab and under that select the Roll Back Driver option. Now, once you finish this and then you restart the system and then go through your problem.

I have gone through this same issue and I have searched the lots of solution and to solve this I have installed the latest driver but after installing the driver and now cannot find the webcam in the Device Manager. Finally to solve this issue I have repair mine Windows 7 and after that mine issue was get solved. For that you have to simply insert the CD in Windows 7 and then when you have the option to install new copy and repair at the option of selecting the repair option. It copies all the files that are missing from your laptop. And I think that after not face any problem with that. I hope my information will be useful for you.

The HP Pavilion Webcam does not work at some point.
