I am suggesting following instruction which you can use to do Factory Default on the device of yours.
    • First of all you should launch the Playbook Desktop manager on the computer of yours.
    • You should connect the device with the computer.
    • Now you should do a hard reset by using power button of the device.
    • After rebooting the device you will see pop windows which would display Option to Update.
    • Finally use the instruction which is provided on the screen.
    • After finishing with installation you should reboot the device.

I am hoping that it will help you out to solve the problem of yours.

I recommend that you should do factory reset and see whether it is working or not.
    1. You should go for Settings and simply go for the Security.
    2. You should go for Factory Wipe and enter the code for the confirmation of process.
    3. Once the process is competed the device of yours would reboot and see whether it is working or not.

I think the thing which you have mentioned in the previous post is seems to be completely wrong. Well you can restore to the Playbook factory original by doing the security wipe on the computer. you need to do a original Factory install on the device to get the requirement. Once you have done the same you need to reinitialize the device of yours from the starting the same. I hope you have differentiate between the things.
